Pete and Theresa Bradley.

Because we had so many people wanting to know how we did it so quickly, we decided to create this website to help and guide you, with your own eBay business. We've included all of our fast track tips and strategies that you can use to make your eBay journey easier and painless.

So why do we specialise in automation for eBay?

Because without a way to automate most of the daily tasks, you’ll likely end up like the other 95% of eBay sellers who become eBay listing slaves, believing that the only way to make more money is to keep listing more items.

Well, we’ve found an easier way. There are in fact, many ways to make more money on eBay without becoming a ‘listing slave’, it just takes ‘know how’ and a ‘proven, step-by-step system’ that needs to be followed exactly, just as if you were baking a cake.

There are 12 Success steps we’ve identified that can literally take you from zero to a million dollars a year PLUS turnover on eBay. These are our exact steps that saw us make over $600,000 in our first year on eBay.

Let’s now take a look at the 12 Steps To eBay Riches…

Click the triangle to play.

Success Step Number 1

Plan To Profit For The Long Term…

Start with the end in mind...know exactly what you want your business to give you

Decide on your outcome and then work your way back

Plan for a profitable, automated eBay business

Build yourself an asset, not just an income

When starting any business it's always important to have a plan of what you want out of the business. Is it time or money or both that you are chasing? Not having a clear outcome is like jumping into your car with no real destination in mind and you end up going nowhere fast.

Knowing the exact steps on how to plan a business that suits all of your needs and fits in with your lifestyle from the start is paramount. Don't think short term...plan to have an exit strategy from the beginning, even if you think you'll never want to sell.

“Mixing all of the simple ingredients of our recipe,

will give you great long term profits”

Success Step Number 2

Discover HOT Selling Products & Services To Sell Ongoing

Use external research tools for fresh ideas

Find hundreds of untapped markets on the eBay websites

Your local community, magazines, TV, teenagers, other countries

Identify your own talents or someone else’s to create original products

Once you understand the power of knowing how to spot hot untapped markets on eBay, you'll never have to wrack your brain trying to work out what to sell.

There are tones of different ways find out what people want to spend their money on. You can sell physical or digital products on eBay depending on how much time, effort and money you want to invest into your business.

“Sell what people want to buy, NOT what you want to sell them”

Success Step Number 3

Sourcing Your Products

Start from home, then locally, then spread your wings when you’re ready

Drop Shippers, Light bulk, Consigning

Buy Wholesale, Arbitrage, Retail overstock

Tradeshows, eBay Trading Assistant

Large Bulk, Liquidation, Close Outs

Importing, Drop Off Store

Create your own info products

As you can see, there is a plethora of ways to find stuff to sell on eBay. The next step for you is deciding on which method will work around your lifestyle.

Once you decide to become a serious eBay seller, you'll be amazed at the amount of opportunity that comes your way. If you're a beginner, always start by selling off your unwanted stuff from around the house while you are doing your research and building up your confidence and experience.

If you're already a seasoned seller, now is the time to automate your business and create long term profits for the minimum amount of time and effort.

Success Step Number 4

Plan To Be In The Top 5% Of Sellers…Who Make The Real Money

Know how much profit you’ll make BEFORE you spend a cent

Know the best times to start and finish your items

How to spy on your competitors to outsmart them

Get a mentor with proven results

Did you know that 54% of items listed on eBay don't get a single bid, let alone sell? This is because more than 95% of sellers are uneducated when it comes to understanding 'how to' create an auction that sends buyers into bidding frenzies.

Before you list anything on eBay you must know what profit you are likely to make, which day is best to sell, what time to finish your auctions and know everything about your competition. This is where you must stand out head and shoulders above your competition to ensure you dominate your category.

“Only ask the advice from someone who has the result you want, no one else, because they’re not qualified.”

Success Step Number 5

Create The Best Possible Listing You Can & Blow Your Competition Away

How your listing presents and what you say tells potential customers about you. The great thing about eBay is that its very simple to look like a big player even if you're just starting out.

Set your business up to look professional and give your customers confidence that you're the right person to shop with.

Success Step Number 6

List Your Items In The Right Selling Format

eBay have given you a number of options to choose from to sell your items. eBay people are famous for enjoying the bidding process available in the Online Auction format. This has been the foundation of the eBay success story.

Once you understand the different selling options available, you'll find that it unlocks even more profit potential. You can list your items as a 'Buy It Now' Fixed Price, you can list the items in your eBay Store or you can even list a Classified Ad.

We use all of these different selling options for different types of products. Once you know what your customers are like and what they respond to, you can easily tailor your listings to maximise profits.

Success Step Number 7

Dominate Your Chosen Category Using Our Proven Simple Steps

Blast your competition out of contention by being the best

Become the expert in your category and dominate the market

Make it silly for bidders to shop with your competition

This is the most important ingredient of all because unless you're seen as the expert in your chosen category, there's every chance shopper will place their bids with your competition.

Don't try to be everything to everyone, be an expert even if it means you have multiple eBay user ID's. Remember...people don't shop on eBay just because it's cheap, they are looking for a memorable shopping experience.

For example; if you're a golfing fanatic, wouldn't you rather spend your money with someone who's an expert in golf and shares your passion...rather than someone who sells a thousand different types of items, yet knows nothing about what they're selling?

"People always buy from people they know, like and trust"

Success Step Number 8

Give Outstanding Customer Service

Easily get your raving customers growing your business for you

Great service happens after you've banked the money too

Giving outstanding customer service puts more $$$ into your pockets

It's so easy these days to stand out from the crowd. So many people think they can get by doing the minimum, when in actual fact, it's easier to deliver outstanding customer service anyway and the bonus is that your customers become your best marketers for you.

Success Step Number 9

Automate Your Business

The Listing Process

Customer Payment Reminder Emails

eBay Feedback

Invoicing and Checkout

Payments and Banking

Item Sent Emails

And Much More…

Here's where the power of eBay really kicks in.

Whether you decide to sell digital or physical products, make sure there is a constant demand and a never ending supply, so you can automate up to 90% of your business.

Don't worry, if you happen to sell one off items, you can still automate many aspects of the daily tasks. Automation is the key to your freedom so you can grow your profits, while still only working part time.

Success Step Number 10

Build A Database Of Names So You Can Sell To Them Over & Over Again

Set Up An Email Marketing / Autoresponder Account                         Example: www.AutoBusinessManager.com

Capture The Customers Details With An Opt-in Box In eBay

Begin Sending Out Relevant Newsletters To Build Trust & Rapport

Market To Your New List Just Like In Standard Internet Marketing

Building a database of names and email addresses, is paramount to your long term success on eBay. As you might know, it's easier and cheaper to sell to an existing customer, than it is to find a new one.

Once you build up a good database you must give them lots of free, relevant content based on your niche market. This will build confidence and trust with your list and they'll be open to buying products you offer ongoing.

The easiest way to build a database is to use a good data management system like www.AutoBusinessManager.com. This system allows you to build a database of names, process transactions online and contact your customers automatically.

“Do You Think Accessing Over 240,000,00 People Right Now,

Might Make A Difference To Your Online Strategies?”

Success Step Number 11

Stick With The System...And Remember

Automating your business will truly set you free

Don't waste time & money trying to reinvent the wheel

Follow proven simple systems that really work

Get peace of mind knowing the system will do most of the work for you.

Remember, eBay is a fun business because it can be automated, leaving you time to actually enjoy life more

We've set out to help you save years of wasted time by trying to get all of the pieces of the puzzle together. Just like the famous hamburger company, if you stick to the simple system, you'll create a great business and be assured of a successful outcome.

Success Step Number 12

Create Multiple Income Streams Through eBay

Once You Have The List, Promote New Offers On Your Website

Market Onto Multiple Sales Platforms Instantly Like…

shopping.com, overstock.com, Google Product Search, Yahoo

Shopping, Shopzilla & Much more

Create A Simple Online Solution With eBay’s ProStores

eBay allow you to easily create your own website using the ProStores system. This is where basically anyone can simply create a website that sells products over the Internet and on multiple sales websites like the ones you see above.

While this may seem advanced, like the rest of eBay, it's very simple to get started.

We teach you eBay principles as well as business principles. And we teach them so that you can become self-sufficient and never have to rely on anyone else again.

No matter what eBay category you decide to sell into, you'll have the skills to get up and running and be profiting in no time.

You could have as many eBay businesses as you like, automated and making profits, which become sellable assets in the future. Once you have the right formula, you can take it as far as you like.

Isn’t that going to be valuable to you? Isn’t that better than having to lose time and money tyring to work out what to do next if you ever get into trouble? You have Matt and Amanda, and our team (who also run successful eBay businesses) to help and guide you every single step of the way, no matter where you’re at.

It just reinforces that fantastic adage:

“Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day.

Show him HOW to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Well, we’re SHOWING YOU HOW TO FISH. Everyone else seems to want to tell you WHAT to do, but never the HOW TO bit, which is the most important part of all right?

Now, to successfully make money on eBay, you first have to understand what you’re really trying to do.

If you don’t, then it’s a little like handing a first-day apprentice the best tools money can buy, throwing him on to a construction site and expecting him to build you a house. It’s never going to happen. He doesn’t know a thing about building. And he won’t be able to build one single thing until he knows how to use those tools.

That’s what this ‘hand-holding mentoring’ program is all about. Teaching you how to create an eBay business that will be a hands free income producing asset…not just a job where you run the danger of becoming a listing slave.

Ultimately, you’re about to discover the structure behind having a highly profitable, automated eBay business that brings money in 7 days a week.

In fact, we’re confident of one thing in particular. As you progress with your weekly mentoring and with our personal help, you'll know how to set up eBay businesses which will demand attention, captivate and excite your buyers, all while sending your sales soaring.

And we want you to be absolutely sure about something else…

You CAN easily create a hugely profitable part-time eBay business and set it on autopilot. We know this because this is exactly what we've done in a very short amount of time.

You CAN be in the top 2% of sellers who make the real money, if you follow our systems exactly as we say.
And You CAN become both Cash and Time Rich with your eBay business without becoming an ‘eBay listing slave.’

You just need to know how.

In fact, most of things that you need to do, you may have already heard about but didn’t know how to put them into action.

Well, you no longer have to wrack your brain and tear your hair out because we’re going to take you by the hand now and lead you on the right path to eBay riches.

All you have to do is click in the red box below and get started right now…

To Get You Started Right Now, Here Are Your First 4 Lessons Free

We've included below, our first four lessons free so that you can get off on the right foot with the basics. Our monthly membership is designed to take you from zero dollars to over a million dollars a year...so let's start right from the beginning.

We'll take you by the hand and progressively introduce you to more advanced steps and strategies, to make sure you achieve the goals you want.

Setting Up Your Selling Account

“How To Unleash The eBay Entrepreneur In You, Step By Step, So That You Can Grow A Very Profitable Business Very Quickly.”

Starting an eBay Business From Scratch Has Never Been So Simple Or Achievable. Your ‘eBay Magic’ Treasure Map Will Guide You Every Step Of The Way.

This first section is all about learning to buy and sell and covers the basics of selling on eBay. Even though this is an advanced eBay course where we’ll be showing you tips and tricks that no one else would dream of revealing, we feel that it’s important to cover the very basics in case you’re an eBay beginner.

On the other hand, if you’ve already been selling on eBay for a while now, and know your way around the eBay site very well, then you can move straight on to the advanced strategies right now.

If this is you go to the next section of the program.

Step 1        Open Your eBay Account

  • Depending on the country you live in, go to your local eBay home page. In this instance we’ll go to www.ebay.com.
  • Click the Register button in the navigation menu at the top of the page:

  • First you'll have to create your 'user ID' and 'password'. This is going to be the name of your business and if you intend on running a serious eBay business, make sure you choose a user ID that potential customers will be able to remember easily. Don’t use your personal name mixed with numbers because it’s not professional and is certainly harder to remember.

For Example, ‘yourname14578’ is NOT a good user ID. Also, avoid using the underscore symbol _ as well because your customers will have trouble remembering it when referring business your way!

Your eBay User Name can be changed later on when you decide what your ‘niche’ will be and what you’ll be selling, but it’s time to get your thinking cap on and come up with a professional eBay name that you can sell all types of products with.

  • Next enter your personal information to set up your eBay account:

  • Once you’ve entered all your personal information, eBay will send you a confirmation of Registration straight to your email address and you just follow the steps in your email to complete the set up process.
  • At this early stage, you can use your current email address that your ISP (Internet Service Provider) has provided you with your internet access, however later on in this course we’ll be showing you how you can have your business name incorporated into your email address!

Now if you’re still not sure and want some extra help when setting up your eBay account, simply click on the Camtasia video below and we'll walk you through it!

Step 2  Creating Your Seller’s Account.

  • The best part about opening your seller’s account is that it’s FREE!

This is the second step to opening your account on eBay so you can start selling straight away!

  • Firstly you’ll need to think of something that you might want to sell on eBay. Don’t worry if you don’t have your photos or description ready to actually list it yet, we can just use it as an example and update it, change it or delete it later on.

Click on the multi coloured eBay logo in the top left hand corner of eBay to go back to the eBay home page and then click on the Sell tab in the navigation menu at the top right.

If you already knew what you wanted to sell, you’d simply follow the below steps. It will guide you through, step by step. It’s that simple!

  • In the Sell box enter in what the item is that you’re planning on selling. You can type in just a one word description, then click the Start Selling button and eBay will show you all the categories that other sellers have used for similar items. You can either choose between one of their categories or choose your own.

Remember to keep in mind that the categories that eBay chooses for you might not necessarily be the best category for your item to get the most exposure, so it’s great to know how you can look at all your options.

To choose you own category, simply click on Browse for Categories which is just under the start selling button. Then manually ‘niche’ down within the category  until you find the best category. For example, let’s say you were going to sell a bookcase, you’d start by choosing Home and Garden, Furniture, Living Room/ General Furniture, then Bookcases.

No matter what you’re selling, keep ‘niching’ down until you see the green tick appear to let you know you’ve completed this step. If you only get half way through the process eBay will let you continue, however they won’t list your item for sale.

  • Whilst it’s easy to ‘follow the herd’ and use the categories other sellers are using, it really is best to put your items in the right categories so your buyers can easily find the items they’re looking to buy and ultimately you’ll get more bids!

  • Once you’ve found your category, you’ll need to enter in all the items details. There’s a few different views that you can enter your item details in, depending on what eBay platform (each country has their own platform) you’re selling from and which process you use to find your category.

There’s no wrong or right view to use and all the selling options are the same in each view, but don’t be alarmed if it looks different to the view that you get used to! eBay like to keep updating their site and keeping us on our toes!

Later on in the course we’ll explain what each of the selling options are and how to best utilize them to bring in maximum prices for your goodies, but for now we’ll just cover the basic fields you need to fill in, so you can set up your sellers account and start practicing with selling.
  • The boxes that have a green astrix * next to them are the compulsory sections that you have to fill out.
  • First is your title that you’ll use to explain your item. You only have 55 characters including commas and punctuation etc, so make the most of them!

How many times have you been searching for a new item to buy and typed in “*L@@K*”? (By the way that’s 8 characters that have been wasted!)

  • Next is your description. It’s not unusual for sellers to only have a one line description in the early days, but we don’t recommend this. There’s a whole art to Copywriting (Copywriting is writing the verbal elements of an advertisement and the process of writing the words that promote your product to it’s very best ability) that you’ll learn as you grow with us, but for now try to explain the product the best you can including all relevant information that you think your buyers would like to know about the item.

  • Your starting price is the price that buyers will start bidding at. Keep in mind that buyers love to bid the prices up and if you have the starting price too high you risk the chance of getting no bids.
  • On the next page you can see what eBay recommends your listing should have, preview your listing and see how much eBay will charge you for your Insertion fee (listing the item fee).

Step 3   Selecting Your Seller Fee Payment Option.

You have the choice of 3 payment options here.

  • You can have the fees you owe to eBay deducted from you bank account directly

  • You can have the seller’s fees charged to your Visa or Mastercard or debit card

  • You can pay the seller’s fees from your PayPal account (we’ll be showing you how to open a PayPal account and the benefits soon!)

Choose which payment option best suites you and don’t forget all these options can be changed later on if you decide another option is better suited.

Step 4 Verifying Your Account.

  • Next depending on which payment option you choose above, you’ll have to pick your preferred verification method. That’s either signing in to your PayPal account if you've already got one, entering your credit or debit card details, or by eBay calling you by telephone.

Depending on the method you want to use, just follow the simple steps. You’ll need to fill out all the fields’ required and then click ‘continue’ to move to the next page. Once you’ve been verified, you’ll be allowed to start selling immediately! Great isn’t it?

This program is designed to take you through all of the stages of setting up and running your successful and long term eBay business. Take the time now to go through the steps shown above so you can begin selling on eBay right now.

  • Remember in the early stages of selling on eBay we want to make sure that you don’t make any costly mistakes. So please don’t go and list your expensive jewellery on eBay hoping to make a killing. We’d like you to start out by selling small items from around your home that you have no emotional attachment to. This means that if you sell a few old books or CD’s etc, that if it only sells for 99 cents you don’t mind.

In the beginning we want you to get the feel for eBay by practicing and selling so you begin to understand the process. Selling these smaller items is designed to build your feedback up and get to know the system. Then as your experience builds you can tackle selling more expensive items, knowing you’ll be confident of making a decent profit.

Next, if you haven’t already done so, its time to move onto the next lesson of setting up your PayPal account so you can start accepting immeditate payments!

Here’s What We Want You To Take Away From This Lesson…

  • Open your eBay buyers and sellers account

  • Start thinking about your new eBay business ID name (remember this can be updated later on)

  • Be familiar with the different categories on eBay

  • Know how you’re planning on paying your seller fees

  • Start to look around the house for items you can ‘practice’ selling with

  • Have lots of fun and move one step ahead at a time

Setting Up Your PayPal Account

"How To Set Up Your PayPal Account So You Can Get Paid Immediately From Your Customers."

So What Is Paypal?

  • Running your eBay business is just about impossible without a PayPal account. PayPal is a company owned by eBay with over 100 Million users and counting. PayPal has been promoted extensively throughout all of the eBay websites, as the most respected and trusted, payment-processing option available.

As a result, most people looking to spend money on eBay prefer to have this option available and could be deterred away from your items for sale if you don’t offer it.

PayPal is a very reliable way to receive money in your new eBay business, and it also has the added benefit of funds appearing in your account instantly.

  • If you process money through your own Online Merchant Account, it can actually take two or three days before the funds will appear. There’s also a bit to setting the account up before you can start to use and extra fees involved.

When new customers are anxiously waiting for their item to arrive, it’s great to be able to send out their item immediately, once payment is received and we often refer to PayPal as our ‘Magic Money Bowl’. Magic because it ‘fills’ itself up at any time, even when you’re sleeping or out shopping!

There are a few fees PayPal charge for processing your transaction, but it’s just a cost of doing business, and you need to include this cost when you’re researching the viability of a product to sell.

Let's Set up your account:

Firstly go to http://www.biddingbuzz.com.au/paypal.html and click on the Banner at the bottom of the screen. You’ll then be taken directly to the PayPal Sign Up screen,

See below for an example.

After you click on Sign Up, you’ll need to choose your Account type and the correct country you live in. There are three different account types that PayPal offer and here’s what they all mean:

  • Personal Account.

A Personal PayPal account is designed for buyers or small sellers that mainly Send Money to others. Personal accounts can accept bank account funded or PayPal funded payments, but are very limited on the number of payments your buyers want to pay funded by their credit or debit cards.

  • Premier Accounts.

A Premier Account is designed to accept unlimited credit or debit card payments (unlimited payments ARE what we want to encourage!) and for members who have a high number of transactions through PayPal.

  • Business Accounts

With a Business Account, you can also accept unlimited credit and debit card payments, but you can also have multiple users within the one account.

This is especially handy if you have staff working for you later on and you want to limit the amount of information that they have access to.

At this stage, we’re going to recommend you open up Premier Account so you can receive the unlimited payments!

Click the Start now button at the bottom of the column

Fill out your personal information and click the Sign Up button, again at the bottom right of the screen.

As part of the process, you’ll need to supply an email address. This basically becomes your account number, and you’ll need to choose a password. For extra security, don’t choose a password associated with your eBay account, and of course never reveal this to anyone.

The next step is to activate your account by confirming your email address. You can see the steps in the example below.

Confirm your email address

To begin trading, you then need to Verify your account and connect it to your bank account. This is a two-step process in itself but is explained very simply in PayPal itself.

Until you verify your account through PayPal, you will have limited access to your accounts, so don’t delay!

Here are some fantastic benefits for using PayPal in your eBay business:

  • It’s the quickest way to get paid immediately upon making a sale

  • Use your PayPal balance to pay for other online transactions

  • You can withdraw funds from your PayPal and transfer the money straight into your bank account

  • You can send payments with your credit card or PayPal balance

  • You can accept payments from credit card, bank account, or PayPal balance

  • You can offer PayPal insurance to your eBay customers

  • Offer loans to your eBay customers, where PayPal pay you the money up front and the customer pays back PayPal

  • You can record and track all parcels, and even provide the buyer with a tracking number

So How Does It All Work?

  • Once you’ve opened and verified your PayPal account, you can log into your Account Overview which will show you your PayPal balance. You can see the total in US dollars or Australian dollars, or even manage your currencies.

  • Underneath your Balance is your Account Activity that shows you the name of your buyer, the date the purchase was paid for and the status of the sale. Until your account has been verified, you may need to manually ‘Accept’ your payments. Where the Status on a Premier Account will automatically display the work Completed after the payment is made, until your verified it’ll display Accept or Decline.
  • If your buyer has a PayPal account, but there balance is on $0.00, they can still purchase from you and ‘Top Up’ their account to pay you from their Bank Account, Credit Card or Debit Card!
  • Now you can actually accept credit card payments without going to the trouble of getting an Online Merchant Facility! (But remember, when you do list your items, eBay gives you the option to accept Credit Cards separately to PayPal. Unless you do set up an Online Merchant Facility, DON’T tick the credit card option. Your buyers will still know you accept cards through PayPal.)

Check out this great camtasia that we've made for you showing you how to set up your PayPal account...

If you want to maximise the potential to make as many sales as possible on eBay, you’d be absolutely mad not to offer PayPal as a payment option for your customers.

We recommend giving your buyer as many choices to pay as possible including PayPal and Bank Deposit, however unlike PayPal, Bank Deposits can be time consuming when trying to marry up buyers payments, especially when you’re selling a large number of products for the same amounts or your buyer doesn’t leave a reference name!

PayPal is the one of the quickest and easiest ways to track your payments and eBay will even tell you when a sold item of yours gets paid for, which means there’s no extra work involved trying to track down payments. That’s right, all you have to do is log into your account, scroll through the list of items that you’ve sold and a highlighted dollar $ sign will appear next to each that HAS been paid for!

Then you can log into your account at anytime to watch your ‘Magic Bowl’ fill up! It’s quite safe to leave money in your PayPal account until you need to spend it, however you may also prefer to ‘Withdraw’ the funds straight back to your bank account.

As you want to sell your product worldwide if possible, PayPal will actually work out the currency conversions for you and you don’t have to worry about extra fees that may incur to convert the payment into your currency.

All too often we hear of overseas buyers sending cheques or bank transfers to our eBay Magic Members, only to find out that it can cost up to $20 extra to convert it back to their countries currency! No matter how much you sell your products for, $20 is too much to have to add on in bank fees!

Now that you have set up your PayPal account and you’re ready to start receiving payments, you need to find something to sell on eBay.

The next lesson will show you how to find products that you can start to sell on eBay ans see the profits flooding in!

Here’s What We Want You To Take Away From This Lesson…

  • Have your PayPal account set up and ready to accept payments

  • Navigate around the site and be familiar with how to check for payments and the status of payments

  • Set up your bank account so you can Withdraw money to your bank account

  • Enjoy the process and start thinking 'outside the box'

Now that you’ve got your eBay and PayPal accounts set up, it’s time to find some goods to sell so you can get the hang of selling and build your feedback up. Every top seller on eBay, including us all began selling the same way… that’s selling ‘stuff’ from around the house.

Now…What to sell in the early days?

When you’re first getting started with your eBay business, the best way to go about it is to choose something to sell that is of…

  • Minimal Value

  • Unwanted item (an unwanted gift or something!)

  • It’s easy to pack and post

  • It’s not fragile

  • It’s in good, clean condition

In the early days you can’t expect to get top dollar for your goods because buyers don’t know and can’t trust you, UNTIL you have sold some products, given fantastic customer service and have the feedback to prove it.

This is the main reason we recommend to not sell anything you’re attached to, or are hoping to get high prices for. Anything that you really don’t mind what prices you achieve is the type of products to look at for and who knows, if you do get more than you expected it’s a bonus!

Here are a few ideas for you if you’ve come up blank!

  • DVD’s in good condition

  • Fiction and non fiction books in good condition

  • Old Comics

  • Toys and hobbies

  • CD’s in good condition

  • Crockery

  • Sporting goods

  • Consumer electronics

  • Dolls and bears

  • Name brand clothing. (Must be in good clean condition)

  • Motivation books, tapes, videos and DVD’s

  • Handbags

  • Purses

  • Leather goods

  • Old Records

The reason it’s important to start out by selling off your unwanted goods is so that you can grow your eBay feedback quickly to gain credibility as a seller.

You don’t want to be ‘cutting your teeth’ selling items of high value as you may not get the money you would hope for, or worse lose money, and in most cases you won’t get as much for your item if you’re a brand new seller as you would being a ‘seasoned’ seller.

There are reasons why you must grow your eBay business step by step. It’s just like following a recipe…all the ingredients must be in place for the best results.

And of course, there are some things that you CANNOT sell on eBay. It’s a very good idea to know about these things before you go off happily listing everything in sight! Check out the eBay Listing Policies in the help section and know the rules. Before you get started!

You don’t want to go through the process of your listing your item, only to find that eBay have removed it. One of the biggest reasons eBay would remove your item is because of copyright laws. Legally you’re not allowed to sell ‘fakes or copies’ on eBay, so if you’re not sure of something’s authenticity (or don’t have the original receipts) the best bet is to avoid selling that item.

All the examples above are great ideas for you to start selling right now. This is exactly how we started our eBay business. Selling off everything in the house that wasn’t nailed down! We started selling books, DVD’s, tapes, Videos, CD’s, wallets, shoes, handbags etc.

I’m still amazed at some of the prices we got for these items. Never assume that no one will buy what you have on offer. You do not know what other people think and feel about certain products so never try to pick the market.

In the early stages of growing our eBay business, we were making a very nice income every week, just from selling things we didn’t want, use or need anymore.

This is called ‘Supplementing Your Income’ and is the first step to becoming a successful eBay PowerSeller. A PowerSeller is an individual or business that ranks highly among the most successful sellers on eBay.

They determine your status in terms of your product sales and customer satisfaction on eBay. Members of the PowerSeller program get a range of special benefits, including prioritized customer support, access to your own eBay representative via phone, promotional offers, eBay promotional merchandise, advanced selling education, opportunities to participate in research, and other special rewards.

To qualify for the PowerSeller program, sellers must consistently sell a significant volume of items, maintain a 98% positive feedback rating and provide a high level of service to their buyers.

So what do eBay class as a significant volume of items sold?

There’s 5 levels of PowerSeller status and each level requires different sales figures or items sold. You’ll also have to have to be an active member for more than 90 days, have more than 100 feedback and consistently have reach the below figures for 3 consecutive months or annually.

PowerSeller  Level

Sales Per Month

Or Items Sold Per Month

Annual Sales

Or Annual Items Sold

Bronze PowerSeller

$1,000

100

$12,000

1,200

Silver PowerSeller

Gold PowerSeller

$300,000

30,000

Titanium PowerSeller

$150,000

15,000

$1,800,000

As you can see from the above figures, eBay can be a very serious business if you treat it as such. Obviously you won’t be able to become a Titanium PowerSeller over night, but by implementing each lesson we bring you each week into your business, will give you the best head start!

Having the PowerSeller logo    next to your eBay user name is a great way for buyers to feel confident to shop with you and is ultimately what you should be aiming for.

Never Forget To Let the market tell you what it wants!

You’ve heard of the saying “One Mans Trash Is Another Mans Treasure” right? Well this absolutely true when it comes to selling on eBay and the great news is you don’t have to guess if your item will be popular.

In the following lessons, we’ll walk you through some of the tools that are available to you, so you can predict the outcome of your auctions and leave nothing to chance! But for now, it’s time to raid your house to find some items to sell.

It’s a fact that every household has around $2,200 worth of ‘stuff’ just sitting around collecting dust, which is great news for you. You’ll be amazed at how much some people will pay for your ‘stuff’!

After you’ve raided the house and sold everything you’re allowed to, (without losing a loved one ;) it’s time to start thinking about where you'll get cheap products that you can re-sell. Once you start believing and seeing how much stuff is out there to make a profit on, you’ll regret that you didn’t start selling years ago!

Once you have your ‘Buyers Eyes’ opened up you’ll start to find bargains everywhere you go including:

  • Op Shops and Second Hand Shops

  • Shopping Centre Sale Items (check right up the back of the store!)

  • Duty Free Outlets

  • Brand Name Outlet Factories

  • Wholesale Shops Dealing Direct to the Public

  • Flea Markets

  • Car Boot Sales

  • Garage Sales

  • Classified Ads in your Local Newspaper
  • Bulletin Boards in Shopping Centres

Finding bargains to re-sell can take a bit of ‘ferreting’ around until you find some gems, however it can be fun and very rewarding and a lot of eBay sellers make their full time income just this way.

Check out the below video of Amanda and Genta ferreting around a huge antique store right here on the Gold Coast. There were literally thousands of antiques and collectables hidden in every corner, just waiting for someone to buy and re-sell!

Just remember to stick to products you know a bit about and that are relatively cheap, as you don’t want a room full of unsalable stuff that only you like!

The only downside to buying one off items is that the research can be harder to do. This is why we’re constantly saying to stick to minimal value products that you’re prepared to learn from and possibly take a gamble with.

As soon as you’ve got some practice and are getting your feedback numbers up, we’ll be showing you in depth the research tools that you’ll be using to take the gamble out of selling so you can always be one step ahead of the market and your competition!

In the next lesson, we’ll show you how to research the items you’ve found to sell, so you can discover how you’ll be able to predict the outcome of your auctions and find out how much demand there is for that item.

This Weeks Homework......

  • Before your next lesson, try to collect a minimum of 20 items that you’re not attached to that you can practice selling with. Try and collect a range of different items to sell, anything from CD’s, tools, books to kitchenware and homeware goods that you can start to research.

  • It’s a good idea to get a special note book just for eBay that you can keep a record of your items that you research so you can find out the market value of your goods.

  • And if you haven’t already, how about buying a few low cost items from eBay also? Then you can get the feel of what other sellers are doing and also understand the process your customers will go through.

  • Also get out your local phone book and have a look at how many shops (that we mentioned earlier) are out there. These shops may end up being ongoing long term suppliers and you can start to build relationships with them.

Here’s What We Want You To Take Away From This Lesson…

  • List as many things as you can from day one, starting your auctions for 99cents if you can. Remember..this is the learning phase while building credibility so save your 'good money earners' till you know exactly what you're doing.

  • Know that there are a million and one things you can sell on eBay. Don't get caught up worrying about where you'll find them, just keep your mind and eyes wide open and the opportunities will come your way faster than you think.

  • You can build your feedback by buying a few very cheap items from other sellers but the best way to go is build it by selling as much stuff as you can as quick as you can!

  • eBay is a real business and just like any business, it takes time and constant nurturing. The rewards will come if you follow the simple steps and believe in yourself 100%.

  • Have fun and when you've sold everything 'not nailed down' go to your friends and family and ask for their help. You'll be surprised at how fast your bank account will grow. During this time, start to think about finding things to sell ongoing that will give you the sort of income you really desire.

We'll be covering this in depth as we progress..

How To Know The Market Value
Of What You’re Selling

"How To Predict The Outcome Of All Your Auctions"

So, once you’ve found something you’d like to sell, next step is to see what you’re likely to sell it for before you list it for sale. To do this, go to the completed listings area to determine the value of your product before you list it.

Completed Listings will show you all the items that match your keywords and have ended in the past 15 days, whether they sold or not and how much they sold for.
You can check the Completed Listings for items by:

  • Categories

  • Countries or Regions

  • Keywords

  • Item Numbers

  • Favourite Searches

  • Sellers

  • Post Codes

To get to the ‘completed listings’ area, you’ll need to be signed into your eBay account.

Click on the ‘Advanced Search’ box at the top of the page next to the Search box. You’ll land on a page that looks like this…

Then type in the item you want to research and tick the ‘completed listings’ box. Then hit the search button.

Once you’ve landed on the ‘completed listings’ page for this search, you will see a whole list of completed sales appear.

Some of the prices are in ‘green’ and some in ‘red.’ The ones in green are the ones that sold on that day. These are the ones you’ll be interested in looking at.

The example on the next page will show you what you should be looking at. There are a number of things on this page you will be taking note of. And remember…this is a guideline only. It is to give you a ‘ballpark’ of what your item is fetching on any given day.

In this example, the top three listings sold and the fourth was a no sale. Out of the three listings that sold, two of them were ‘auctions’ and one was a ‘buy now.’

Here is a list of what we look at in the completed listings area to compare what other sellers are doing and how we can learn from them.

  • Title description

  • What type of listing is it? ‘Buy it now’ or Auction?

  • Listing Description. Is it compelling?

  • How many bids did it get?

  • What were the photos like?

  • What were the postage and handling fees?

  • Was there a refund or returns policy?

  • Did the seller use a ‘hit’ counter?

  • Did the seller point out all the BENEFITS of the item?

  • Did the seller use threatening or unfriendly language?

  • Was the seller professional in all areas of his/her business?

  • Was there an ‘About Me’ page?

  • Was there a newsletter on offer?

  • Did the seller have an eBay store or just auctions?

  • Did you like the look of the listing overall?

  • Did you feel compelled or excited to place a bid on the auction?

  • Did you feel that you could trust this seller?

  • How about the sellers Feedback rating. What was it like?

By answering all of these questions yourself, you’ll be able to get a better understanding of how potential bidders and buyers will feel when they’re looking at YOUR listing!

Don’t worry if you don’t yet know what some of the question and features mean, we’ll be going over each one in depth later on in the lessons.

You can also change the search results in Completed Listings by clicking on the ‘Sort By’ box in the top right hand corner. Sort them by the dates they were listed, the highest or lowest prices achieved or by distance.

Doing a combination of searches will give you the most accurate results and prices. Have a look at the most expensive items, did they sell? Was the price just too high, or does the seller not have any idea what they’re doing?

Also check out the lowest prices to make sure you don’t make any possible mistakes these sellers have.

Completed Listings is a great way to work out what your starting prices will be, to make sure you don’t list your item too high or too low, but remember in the early days you want to sell as many cheap products as possible to get your feedback rating up so you attract more buyers later.

You’ll never know how popular your item really is unless you research it though Completed Listings first. There’s no point taking a great photo, writing a fantastic description and then not getting a decent sale price.

Completed Listings is one of the quickest ways to see what a product has actually sold for, but remember to compare apples with apples and only compare your stuff to the same brands, quality and condition.

Now that you’ll know the market value of your item and what you might expect to achieve for it, next week we’ll show you how to prepare your item to list it on eBay to have maximum exposure and buyers.

This Weeks Homework.....

  • This week you need to think of at least 5 new items that you may be interested in selling.

  • These can be products you’ve got to sell, or products you think might be ‘Hot’ on eBay.

  • Then do a Completed Listing for each one and niche down into the categories to narrow your results and compare them to the items you've actually got to sell.

  • Go through the above checklist for each item and pull each listing to bits.  Keep a record of what you do and don’t like about each listing so you’ll be able to copy or avoid doing the same thing.

  • Right now what we are trying to do is get you trained to know what you are looking at when it comes to finding a hot market and know that your items will sell so you’ll always have hot products that are in demand.

Here’s What We Want You To Take Away From This Lesson…

  • Start to train your mind to know 'what's hot and what's not' by looking through the completed listings and seeing what other sellers are doing.

  • Make a list of all the things you like about your competition's listings and all the things you feel you could improve on.

  • Start looking at all the other things other sellers are selling to get ideas.

  • Make a list of how you'll create your listings so that you will definitely stand out from the crowd.

  • Keep a special notebook and write down all your product ideas and keep it with you at all times...you never know where you might be when an idea presents itself!
